Meal plans are mandatory for all students who live in Kays Hall, University Hall, Arkansas Hall, North Park Quads, Honors Living Learning Community, Sorority Housing, and the ROTC Living Learning Community. Commuter students, NYIT students, and those who live in Collegiate Park Apartments, Red Wolf Den Apartments, Pack Place, the Circle, and the Village have the option of purchasing a meal plan.
All plans are available for these students; however the Voluntary Meal Plans (VMPs) are available only to these students. Plans may only be changer prior to the opening date of the residence halls each semester.
Campus Choice Undergraduate Flex Plan
Undergraduate students who are enrolled in courses on the Arkansas State campus and not already enrolled in a meal plan will be provided a $150 flex plan redeemable at all Sodexo dining and retail locations on campus. Purchases made with these funds are sales-tax free, resulting in increased purchasing power. These funds will be automatically loaded to students' campus ID cards and will remain available to spend until July 31, 2024.
Enrollment in this plan is automatic; however, participation is optional. Students who do not wish to participate may opt out by clicking on the link below and completing a simple, online form.

Meal Plan Dates & Deadlines
Students who select a Fall semester plan will automatically be re enrolled in the same meal plan for the Spring, unless a change has been requested and approved in the proper time frame.

Type of Meal Plans
The 7-Day + Plans
Offers unlimited access to dining in Acansa Dining Hall, 7 days a week. Come in for a meal, a snack or just to enjoy a cup of coffee or a soda. This is our most economical plan, perfect for the student with a big appetite, small appetite or somewhere in between. Flex dollars may be used at any dining location on campus, including the Campus Store. Students with the 7 Day plan may NOT bring guests in, unless they use one of their five guest passes or Flex. This plan also include 1 To-Go Container that can be used in the Acansa Dining Hall.
Flex rolls from fall to spring if you have one of the following plans AND keep one of the same type of plans listed: 5 Day, 7 Day, 150 block, 115 Block, All Flex. Flex DOES NOT roll over if you have a meal plan and then choose a Voluntary Meal Plan in the Spring.
The 5-Day + Plans
Also offers unlimited access to dining in our Acansa Dining Hall, Monday through Friday ONLY. It operates just like the 7-Day plan, but is more suitable for the diner who prefers to only eat on campus during the school week. If you travel to your hometown most weekends, this plan is for you! Flex dollars may be used at any dining location on campus, including the Campus Store. Students with the 5 Day plan may NOT bring guests in, unless they use one of their five guest passes or Flex. This plan also include 1 To-Go Container that can be used in the Acansa Dining Hall.
Flex rolls from fall to spring if you have one of the following plans AND keep one of the same type of plans listed: 5 Day, 7 Day, 150 block, 115 Block, All Flex. Flex DOES NOT roll over if you have a meal plan and then choose a Voluntary Meal Plan in the Spring.
The Block Plans
Allow a meal plan holder to dine in the Acansa, up to the number of block meals purchased, any time the Acansa is open. The Block plans also give the flexibility of allowing the plan holder to use the plan to bring in guests. Each guest will reduce the block by one meal. Block meals not used by the end of each term will be forfeited.
Please note, block meals do not roll over from fall to the spring. All unused blocks are forfeited at the end of each semester. Flex Dollars
Operates like a declining account that can be used at any of our dining venues, including Acansa Dining Hall, the Food Court, Campus Store, Starbucks, and Simply to Go. Flex is tax-exempt, offering a savings of 10.5% in Craighead County.

Voluntary Meal Plan (VMP)
The VMP is designed specifically for our commuter students and our students who love to cook in their on-campus apartments. VMPs allow a meal plan holder to dine in the Acansa, up to the number of blocks meals purchased, any time the Acansa is open. The Block plans also give the flexibility of allowing the plan holder to use the plan to bring in guests. Each guest will reduce the block by one meal. Two of our VMP plans contain Flex dollars. Flex operates like a declining balance and can be used at any of our dining venues. In addition, we have an all flex VMP that can be used at all our locations at any time.
This is the ONLY meal plan that rolls from August to July

Flex Dollars
Flex is a declining balance account that operates like a debit card. Meal plans that come with flex enjoy tax-free purchases on all prepared food items at any of our dining venues, including the Acansa Dining Hall, the Food Court, the Campus Store, Starbucks, Einstein Bro's Bagels, the Sweet Shoppe, Simply To Go, and On-The-Go Vending. This equates to a savings of 10.5% in Craighead County.
*Flex rolls over from the Fall semester to the spring semester if you have one of the following plans AND keep the same plan OR upgrade to a greater plan: 5 Day, 7 Day, 150 block, 115 block, or $1,780 Flex in the Fall semester and you choose one of the Annual Flex or Block Meal Plans in the Spring, your Flex DOES NOT roll over.
**If you are enrolled in the Annual 50 Block, 25 Block, or Annual $1,000 Flex in the Spring, flex dollars included on these meal plans are the only exception. This meal plan's flex dollars roll over from August to July provided you select the same plan OR upgrade to a greater annual plan in the Spring.
Meal Swipes
Meal plans that come with meal swipes allow the meal plan holder to dine in the Acansa Dining Hall, up to the number of block meals purchased or permitted. Please note, meal swipes do not roll over from the fall semester to the spring semester.
**Wipes included on the Annual 50 block and 225 block plans are the only exception. This is the only meal plan with swipes that roll over from August to July.
